[Midday Song] BOBBY’s “GA”: YG’s monster rapper shows much zeal
[OSEN=황미현 기자] YG Entertainment’s trainee and one of the rappers on Mnet’s “Show Me The Money 3” proved himself the monster rapper with his fervent rapping.
At midday of August 14, BOBBY unveiled his self-written “GA” on various music sites through the special album “Show Me The Money 3 Part 2.” The zealous and confident rap he showcased was like announcing the arrival of YG’s new monster rapper.
The song goes along a quiet rhythm until BOBBY’s perfectly rhyming rap emerges, drawing in the listeners at once. He bulldozes through the song with his rapping in a low tone voice while the beat grows faster. It automatically makes one’s shoulders get into the rhythm.
BOBBY leaves a powerful impression with confident and provocative lyrics. In “GA,” he writes, “When I ride the rhythm, I’m like a cocky ghost or a monster,” “My entrance to this crazy hiphop scene gives you a mental breakdown,” and “I’ve already conquered this place so go ahead an serve me.” The repetition of “GA” seems like a charismatic warning.
BOBBY’s musical talent is proven when he was involved in writing the lyrics for WINNER’s debut title track “EMPTY.” His emergence in the music world is hinting the birth of a monstrous rapper, as he won high praises from top rappers on “Show Me The Money 3.”
BOBBY is to showcase the performance of “GA” on the show that is to be aired at 11 pm on August 14. He is expected to break away from being an “idol rapper,” and will show a monstrous power. Rumors have it that he heats up the audience by revealing his abs.
In the 7th episode of the show, all performances from the 1st round are to be unveiled. Evaluation of the audience will lead to a dropout of 2 contestants. The 8 rappers in this round, depending on how the 200 audiences (100 from each gender) evaluate, will receive funds for future performances.
