iKON To Appear on ‘MCountdown’…First Performance of ‘BUT YOU’
[동아닷컴=홍세영 기자] iKON will be making an appearance at Mnet’s ‘MCountdown’.
According to YG Entertainment, iKON will be performing the title-song of their new album [FLASHBACK] ‘BUT YOU’, and their track-SONG ‘BUT YOU’ on Mnet’s ‘MCountdown’ which will air on the 5th.
Their title-song ‘BUT YOU’ is a synthwave genre which reinterpreted pop music from the 80s with a modern sound. Not only is the song a genre the boys have never tried before, but as the stage will show the full performance of the song which couldn’t be seen in the music video, global fans are paying even more attention to their music show performance.
Previously iKON had expressed their expectations towards their new stage and said “We prepared a point choreography that everyone can easily follow. The storyline somewhat has a musical vibe. We prepared a new type of stage, so we hope people enjoy watching it”.
Meanwhile, their track-song ‘NAME’ is a pop ballad genre which shows iKON’s even more matured vocals and deep emotions. DK took part in the lyrics and composition procss, and expectations are running high for this song as simple melodies, rhythmical rap, and perfect harmony between the 6 members creates perfectly blends in together.
iKON took the first spot on iTune’s Worldwide Album Chart with their 4th mini-album ‘FLASHBACK’ on the 3rd. Their title-song ‘BUT YOU’ entered the top 10 rankings of major music sites in both Korea and Japan such as Line Music, Rakuten Music, AWA, Bugs, and Naver Vibe.
