iKON To Appear on ‘Inkigayo’ Today…’BUT YOU’ Tops Japan’s Major Music Site for 6 Consecutive Days
[OSEN=지민경 기자] Amid favorable reviews pouring in for their 4th mini-album [FLASHBACK], iKON will be making an appearance on a terrestrial TV music show for the first time since the release.
According to YG Entertainment on the 8th, the group will be appearing on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ and will perform two songs ‘BUT YOU’ and ‘NAME’.
iKON said “We’re really happy thanks to our fans. Since they love us being on stage the most, we really prepared hard for this. We’re so thankful to iKONICs who always wait for us. I hope they have a good time watching our performance”.
iKON had previously unveiled the choreography video for ‘BUT YOU’ which was filmed using the one-take method, and garnered enthusiastic responses from global fans. Their dynamic yet soft movements along with performances that resembled a musical stole the hearts of global fans.
‘BUT YOU’ is a synthwave genre which reinterpreted pop music from the 1980s with a modern sound. It portrays the emotions of not being able to get over one’s ex-lover. Even though it’s a genre the boys have never tried before, favorable reviews have been pouring in as their vocals, rap, choreography and visuals created perfect harmony with the song.
‘NAME’ is a pop ballad song with lyrical melodies and rhythmical rapping. The song is being loved as much as the title-song, as it shows members’ beautiful harmony and sentimental emotions.
Meanwhile, iKON topped the iTune’s Worldwide Album Chart with their 4th mini-album [FLASHBACK] after releasing it on the 3rd. Their title-song ‘BUT YOU’ has been topping Japan’s largest music site Rakuten’s chart for 6 consecutive days.
