“The Return of the Queens”, BLACKPINK Soars to New Heights with All Members Back Together
[OSEN=지민경 기자] BLACKPINK lit up the summer night with an overwhelming live performance. Returning as a full group for the first time in about two years, the quartet proved their unrivaled presence, a true “return of the queens.”
On July 5 and 6, BLACKPINK kicked off their new world tour with ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR ‘DEADLINE’ IN GOYANG,’ held at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Gyeonggi Province. This marks their first solo tour in about 1 year and 10 months since the ‘BORN PINK’ tour, and notably, they became the first K-pop girl group to perform at the Goyang Main Stadium, setting a new record.
Over the two days, a crowd of roughly 78,000 filled the venue to capacity, reaffirming why BLACKPINK continues to be called a “global top girl group.”
The ‘DEADLINE’ tour was a complete showcase of BLACKPINK’s musical journey and identity. Top-tier musicians and dancers, who have worked with the likes of Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, joined the stage, while massive LED screens and a concert-optimized sound system made the performance even more immersive and dramatic.
The show opened with “Kill This Love,” followed by non-stop hits like “Pink Venom,” “How You Like That,” and “Shut Down,” sending the audience into a frenzy. Songs like “Whistle,” “Lovesick Girls,” and “Pretty Savage” mixed sleek choreography with an irresistible aura, once again proving BLACKPINK’s royal presence on stage.
In particular, this night marked the first-ever reveal of their new song “JUMP,” their first release in 2 years and 8 months. The members introduced it as “a special song you can only hear in Goyang today,” and the crowd responded with explosive cheers and a massive singalong. The fiery, addictive rhythm of “JUMP” signaled the start of a new era for BLACKPINK.
Each member also took the stage for solo performances, showcasing their expanded musical styles. JISOO exuded soft charisma through “earthquake” and “Your Love.” LISA fired up the crowd with powerful stages of “Rockstar” and “New Woman.” JENNIE dominated with “Mantra,” “with the IE (way up),” and “Like JENNIE.” And ROSÉ delivered a mix of delicate emotion and thrilling energy through “3AM,” “toxic till the end,” and “APT.”
For the grand finale, BLACKPINK brought back “JUMP” as the encore, transforming the stadium into a massive party. They followed with “REALLY” and “SEE YOU LATER,” flawlessly wrapping up their first stadium stage in Goyang.
This concert was clear proof of why BLACKPINK remains a global powerhouse. Their commanding live vocals, stage presence, and performances that shook the entire stadium reflected how much each member has evolved through their individual activities.
LISA said, “I was nervous since yesterday, and I’m still nervous now. But seeing everyone having so much fun with us makes me really happy.”
JENNIE added, “We’re grateful that so many people came to Goyang for the start of our first stadium tour. It’s amazing to see even the upper seats packed. It’s sad that we’re leaving for the world tour after today, but I hope we get to meet again soon.”
In partnership with YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK is also leading the way in sustainable concerts. From eco-friendly carton water bottles labeled “BLACKPINK Water” to carbon footprint tracking booths titled “YOUR GREEN STEP” and recycling awareness campaigns, the tour is adding meaningful social value.
Following the Goyang concert, BLACKPINK will continue their tour across 16 cities including Los Angeles, Paris, London, Bangkok, and Tokyo, with a total of 31 stadium-scale shows. Once again, they’re poised to reign supreme on stages around the globe.
