YG, AKMU LEE SU HYUN Will Be Making Comeback on the 16th… First Solo Debut in 6 Years Since Debut
[OSEN=지민경 기자] The person making comeback on YG’s ‘WHO’s NEXT’ poster released on the 16th was LEE SU HYUN of AKMU, her first solo debut single.
On October 5 at 9 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded LEE SU HYUN’s solo coming soon teaser poster.
LEE SU HYUN’s name was written in a UFO license with a space illustration background. The license showed LEE SU HYUN in alien form with detailed information, raising the viewers’ curiosities.
YG has previously revealed that AKMU will be releasing new songs in 3 turns until the end of the year. The first step was LEE SU HYUN’s solo single.
The fans did not expect this. It will be LEE SU HYUN’s first-ever single being released in 6 years since debut.
After being recognized as ‘AKMU’ through ‘K-Pop Star’ season 2 back in 2012, AKMU made official debut in YG back in 2014. They then established themselves as the best chart influencers with genius writing and composing talents, creating numerous hits for the past 6 years.
Their song ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’ is still ranked at no. 28(10/4/2020) on the daily chart of Melon after a year, proving the song’s consistent popularity.
YG will heat up the K-Pop scene this fall by releasing AKMU LEE SU HYUN’s solo single right after BLACKPINK’s official debut album release.
Through ‘Sailing’, AKMU was recognized not only for their popularity but also for their musicality and art. The album was filled with good tracks including the title song ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’, ‘Chantey’, and ‘Fish Meets Water’, allowing the album to be labeled as a ‘great album’.
YG revealed, “As one can assume from the unusual concept teaser, LEE SU HYUN’s first solo track will be fresh and popular”.
They continued, “With a fresh and emotional voice, LEE SU HYUN will present her new charms which she hasn’t revealed in AKMU until now. Please look forward to it”.
