BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ Enters UK’s Official Singles Chart for 2 Consecutive Weeks
[스포츠조선닷컴=김준석 기자] BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ entered UK’s Official Singles chart for 2 consecutive weeks, proving their steady global popularity.
According to UK’s Official Singles Chart announced on the 11th(local time), ‘How You Like That’ was ranked at no. 44. It is a meaningful record after the song entered the chart as no. 20, renewing the best K-Pop girl group record.
UK’s Official Singles Chart is known as two of the biggest music charts in the world along with US Billboard. BLACKPINK remained at the Top 100 of the according charts last year with ‘Kill This Love’, setting the longest record in K-Pop girl group history.
Their latest single ‘How You Like That’ is a pre-release single from their first official album upcoming in September, and promotional activities are only occurring in Korea. This makes BLACKPINK’s presence in the global music industry shine even brighter.
BLACKPINK has already been placed at the top ranks of UK’s Official Singles Chart from June through the song ‘Sour Candy’, collaborated with Lady Gaga, and since ‘How You Like That’ has achieved similar success, it proves BLACKPINK’s popularity among UK fans.

‘How You Like That’ has entered US Billboard’s Hot 100 as no. 33, setting their own best K-Pop girl group record. The song was also ranked at no. 2 on the US Digital Song Sales Chart, reminding people of the global girl group, Pussycat Dolls, who were also ranked at no. 2 on the according chart 15 years ago.
Their success on YouTube is also outstanding. The ‘How You Like That’ MV hit 86.3M views on the date of its release and was listed on 5 categories of the Guinness World Records including the category, ‘The Most Watched Video on YouTube in 24 Hours’. The video then surpassed 100M views in 32 hours and 200M views in 7 days, setting the fastest world records. The video will soon surpass 300M views.
Furthermore, BLACKPINK has achieved a ‘perfect all-kill’ on major Korean music charts and dominated the Digital·Downloads·Streaming·Social charts of Gaon for the 27th week(06.28~07.04) of 2020. They are maintaining their no. 1 spot on Bugs and Melon, the biggest music platform in Korea, for 16 consecutive days.
BLACKPINK will appear on MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ today(11th) and present their glamorous performances. The group has won 4 music broadcast trophies on SBS ‘Inkigayo’, MBC M ‘Show Champion’, Mnet ‘M Countdown’, and KBS2 ‘Music Bank’.
