BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ MV Surpasses 900M Views… Fastest Record in K-Pop Girl Group History
[OSEN=지민경 기자] BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ MV has surpassed 900M views. It is BLACKPINK’s 5th video to surpass 900M views and is the fastest record in K-Pop girl group MV history.
According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ MV surpassed 900M views on YouTube on the 24th as of 9:49 PM.
The record was achieved in approximately a year since its release last year on June 26. It shortened their previous record set through the mega-hit song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’(900M views in 411 days) by nearly 50 days.
As a result, BLACKPINK now has 5 videos with over 900M views including ‘BOOMBAYAH’, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, ‘Kill This Love’, and ‘How You Like That’.
The MV for ‘How You Like That’ reached 86.3M views on the date of its release, setting a Guinness World Record as ‘The Most Viewed YouTube Video in 24 Hours’. The video has since reached 100M views in approximately 32 days, 200M views in 7 days, 300M views in 21 days, 400M views in 43 days, 500M views in 73 days, 600M views in 117 days, 700M views in 175 days, and 800M views in 260 days.
‘How You Like That’ is a song with a fierce beat and the message of ‘Let’s fly high without submitting to hardships’. The song was selected as the ‘Song of the Summer’ in the 2020 US MTV Video Music Awards and was ranked at no. 1 on YouTube’s ‘Global Top Summer Song’ list.
With a total of 28 videos with over 100M views, BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel currently has over 62.4M subscribers. They are the most subscribed female artist in the world and is closely after Justin Bieber, who is currently the most subscribed artist in the world.
