BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ Dance Practice Video Surpasses 400M Views, ‘First Record in K-Pop’

According to YG Entertainment on November 4, BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ dance practice video surpassed 400M views on YouTube as of yesterday at 7:35 PM.
BLACKPINK is dominantly racking up hundreds of millions of views through dance practice videos. In fact, the only other dance practice videos that have surpassed 300M views are BLACKPINK’s mega-hits including ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ and ‘Kill This Love’.
BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ dance practice video reached 100M views in 15 days and 21 hours, 200M in 45 days and 4 hours, and 300M in 76 days and 20 hours. The group proved their steady popularity since it took them only that much to reach 400M as well, without significantly slowing down.
The MV for the song is also rewriting all kinds of records by reaching 100M views in 32 hours, 200M in 7 days, 400M in 43 days, 500M in 73 days, and 600M in 117 days.
‘How You Like That’ contains the message of rising high despite any hard situations, on top of a powerful beat. The song achieved a ‘perfect all-kill’ on 6 major Korean music platforms after its release on June 26, as well as achieving success on global charts.
‘How You Like That’ was ranked at no. 2 on Spotify’s Global Top 50 chart and topped iTunes charts in 64 countries including the US. The song was also ranked at no. 20 and at no. 33 on UK’s Official Singles Top 100 and the Billboard Hot 100 respectively, proving their global presence.
Furthermore, the song received the ‘Song of the Summer’ award at the 2020 US MTV Video Music Awards, as well as being ranked at no. 1 on YouTube’s ‘Global Top Summer Song’ list.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has a total of 22 videos with over 100M views. Their YouTube channel is also gathering subscribers at a fast pace and has recently surpassed 52.5M, making the group the second most subscribed artist in the world.
1.2M copies of BLACKPINK’s official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’ were sold, ranking the album at no. 2 on the US Billboard and UK’s Official Albums chart, which rewrote K-Pop girl group history. The album is maintaining its top rank on the Billboard 200 for 4 consecutive weeks, continuing their new record march.
