BLACKPINK’s ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ MV Surpasses 900M Views… Fourth Record
[서울경제=추승현 기자] Group BLACKPINK’s ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ MV surpassed 900M views. It is the fourth MV by BLACKPINK to reach the figure, while BLACKPINK holds the biggest view count record among all K-Pop artists.
According to YG Entertainment on the 3rd, BLACKPINK’s ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ MV surpassed 900M views on YouTube as of 3:26 PM.
The record was set in approximately 145 days since the video reached 800M on June 11. The video is stacking views although it has been over 3 years since the song was released, adding another 100M views to the record. The news is grabbing the people’s attention due to the possibility that it may reach 1B views following ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ and ‘Kill This Love’.
‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, released back in June 2017, is a dance track with catchy lead synths and romantic lyrics. The song was listed on US Billboard’s ‘TOP 25 YouTube Hits of the Summer’ while its MV was selected as ‘The Most Loved K-Pop MV in the World’ on the according year.
BLACKPINK has a total of 22 videos with over 100M views. Their YouTube channel is also gathering subscribers at a fast ace and currently has 52.5M subscribers, which is the second biggest in the world among all artist channels.
BLACKPINK’s presence is growing fast in the major Pop market. Their official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’ was ranked at no. 2 on the US Billboard 200 and UK’s Official Albums chart, setting the best K-Pop girl group record.
Its title track ‘Lovesick Girls’ was ranked at no. 3 on the Global Top 50 chart of Spotify, the world’s biggest music streaming platform, and was ranked at no. 1 on the Global YouTube Song Top 100 chart for 2 consecutive weeks.
The song ‘Ice Cream’ from the album was ranked at no. 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and successfully charted in for 8 consecutive weeks. Both are the best K-Pop girl group records in history.
