[TV리포트=김명신 기자] BLACKPINK set another meaningful milestone on Spotify, the world’s biggest music streaming platform.

According to YG Entertainment on December 1, BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ has recently surpassed 300M streams on Spotify, in approximately 145 days since its release. It is the fastest K-Pop girl group song to reach 300M streams on Spotify.

It is BLACKPINK’s third song to surpass 300M streams on Spotify. Their song ‘Kill This Love’ became the first K-Pop girl group song to surpass 400M streams, while ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ has also surpassed 300M streams. ‘How You Like That’ has stacked up streaming counts in a matchlessly faster pace compared to the two songs and is expected to continue to set new records.

In addition to ‘How You Like That’, the song ‘Ice Cream’ from the group’s official debut album also reached 200M streams on Spotify yesterday. Most songs from their debut album including ‘Lovesick Girls’ have surpassed or nearly reached 100M streams, proving BLACKPINK’s strong global popularity.

BLACKPINK’s official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’ released on October 2 has topped iTunes Album charts in 57 different countries including the US, as soon as it was released. The album was then ranked at no. 2 on the US Billboard 200 and UK’s Official Albums Chart on the week of its release, rewriting new K-Pop girl group history.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has noticed an upcoming major project. Since a teaser clip showing the satellite views and local times of major global cities along with BLACKPINK’s signature sound was released, the global fans are looking forward to the project that will decorate the grand finale of 2020.
