[OSEN=선미경 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK’s upcoming major project that will decorate the finale of 2020 will unveil on the 3rd.

On December 1 at 12 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded a video titled ‘BLACKPINK – THE INVITATION’ through their official blog and social media channel.

The video showed someone wearing white gloves packing a special object and letters for BLACKPINK in a password-secured bag. The video raised curiosities on what the object is, and who the sender is.

The high-tension sounds and mysterious numbers reminded the viewers of a spy film, grabbing the attention of the people. The password of the bag and address information which read ’11AM KST-DEC. 3RD. 2020’ also grabbed the people’s attention.

YG has previously revealed a teaser clip titled ‘BLACKPINK – AROUND THE WORLD’. The clip displayed the satellite views and local times of major cities along with BLACKPINK’s signature sound, making the global fans’ hearts flutter.

Detailed information is still in veil but considering that full-scale promotional activities usually begin a month prior to the release of a project, BLACKPINK is expected to hold a major event at the end of the year. In other words, they have noticed that a special invitation will arrive on December 3rd at 11 AM(KST).

BLACKPINK has solidified their dominant status in the global music market this year through active releases and promotional activities. Starting with their collaborative song ‘Sour Candy’ released with Lady Gaga back in May, the group re-wrote K-Pop girl group records through all new releases including ‘How You Like That’ released on June, ‘Ice Cream’ released on August, and their official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’ released on October, in 4 years after making debut.

BLACKPINK’s official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’ was ranked at no. 2 on the US Billboard 200 and UK’s Official Albums Chart on the first week of its release and charted-in for 7 consecutive weeks, setting the best·longest records in K-Pop girl group history.
