BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ Surpasses 200M Streams on Spotify
[헤럴드경제=고승희 기자] Group BLACKPINK added another song with over 200M streams on Spotify, the world’s biggest music platform.
According to YG Entertainment on September 22, BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ surpassed 200M streams on Spotify. It is BLACKPINK’s 6th song to set the record following ‘BOOMBAYAH’, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, ‘SOLO’(JENNIE), and ‘KILL THIS LOVE’, achieved in 87 days since its release.
‘How You Like That’ was ranked at no. 2 on Spotify’s Global Top 50 chart after its release on June, setting the best K-Pop record in history. Furthermore, the song has added streams in a faster pace compared to ‘Kill This Love’ and ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, which have both surpassed 300M streams at this moment.
BLACKPINK has released 2 consecutive hits prior to the release of their official debut album, including pre-release singles ‘How You Like That’ and ‘Ice Cream’.
The song ‘Ice Cream’ topped the iTunes Worldwide Song chart after its release and set the best K-Pop girl group record in history by being ranked at no. 13 on the US Billboard ‘Hot 100’ chart without local promotional activities. Furthermore, the song surpassed 1M downloads on QQ Music, China’s biggest music platform, adding another meaningful record to their name.
BLACKPINK will release their official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’ on October 2, in 4 years since making debut.
