On May 18, OSEN reported that YG Entertainment will launch a new girl group at the end of the year. According to the news, information on the number of members and the team name have not yet been shared within the agency, but the group will be composed of talented individuals.
Regarding the news, a related official of YG Entertainment revealed to Star Today, “It is true that we are preparing to launch a new girl group”.
If YG Entertainment launches a new girl group this year, the agency will be launching a girl group in 5 years since BLACKPINK made debut back in 2016. While BLACKPINK is exercising global influence through multiple hits including ‘How You Like That’, ‘Kill This Love’, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, and ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, the people are paying keen attention on the concept and members of the upcoming girl group.
