AKMU’s ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’ Ranked at No. 1 on Music Charts for 8 Days
[텐아시아=우빈 기자] ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’ by AKMU, the sibling duo, is maintaining its no. 1 spot on music charts for 8 days.
As of October 2, 9 AM, ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’ is ranked at no. 1 on the real-time charts of Bugs, Genie, Olleh, Soribada, and Melon, which is the biggest music platform in Korea. YG Entertainment revealed episode 1 of AKMU’s album production video titled ‘SAILING LOG’ through their official blog(www.yg-life.com) on the same day at 10 AM.
The video cross edits LEE CHAN HYUK and LEE SU HYUN, while containing stories regarding their latest album. LEE CHAN HYUK confesses his true emotions while creating the album, while LEE SU HYUN confesses the feelings she felt, during the process of expressing new music.
On the question, ‘Is the song based on experience’, LEE CHAN HYUK truthfully answered, “Yes. There is no fiction this time”.
LEE SU HYUN looked back at the time when she first heard the new music. “Understanding and approaching the song became more difficult. It’s not easy to empathize with my brother’s emotions completely, and I don’t know the exact circumstances”. She added, “What I was surprised of was that as much as I didn’t know how I should feel empathy, it was the story of my brother I knew so well”.
After mentioning that the texture of LEE CHAN HYUK’s music has changed a lot, LEE SU HYUN stated, “My emotions have never been so startled while singing our songs”. She added, “There are many songs that makes me feel like crying from beginning to the end”.
LEE SU HYUN also shared her surprise towards LEE CHAN HYUK’s musical sensitivity by stating, “I felt that ‘My brother knows true love’ by the time we released ‘LAST GOODBYE’, but his depth became deeper on this title song, which even makes me think that ‘he’s like an adult’”.
Furthermore, LEE CHAN HYUK’s studio was revealed while he sincerely discussed his music. Regarding the new song, LEE CHAN HYUK explained his musical direction by stating, “I wanted to give it a hazy feeling. Vocals which the listeners can feel space, while the instruments stay down low a bit. I think it’s the emotions (that matter) rather than ‘I sing well’”.
LEE CHAN HYUK also revealed his views regarding music by stating, “I craved for maturity”. He added, “I promised myself not to express what we’re trying to do. Because we already did so through our songs”.
