US Billboard, “AKMU’s ‘SAILING’ is Artistic and is Full of Various Genres”
[enews24=신나라 기자] Billboard, the US music magazine, spotlighted the release of AKMU’s ‘SAILING’.On September 25(local time), Billboard introduced AKMU’s 3rd official album ‘SAILING’ through an article mentioning AKMU’s comeback.
Billboard wrote, “The sibling duo, AKMU, made their highly-anticipated return to the music world after taking a two-year break”. They also praised their latest album by writing, “their 10-track album is full of heartfelt, rhythmic vocal pop tracks performed by LEE CHAN HYUK and LEE SU HYUN”.
Regarding the MV for the title song, ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’, Billboard wrote, “LEE CHAN HYUK as a painter and LEE SU HYUN as a writer portrayed on the music video impress the viewers. As they sorrowfully pursue their crafts awash in blues and rain, the sailing boat and the solitary woman grabs the viewers’ attention”.
Billboard also explained the reason why AKMU changed their name from Akdong Musician by writing, “The former word represents the term “mischievous child” and the pair have grown and are now both adults so want to approach their music not limited by the youthful description”.
They reviewed their album ‘SAILING’ by writing, “The new album features songs that show the pair’s artistic development, exploring a variety of new genres”. They also added, “Their distinctly vibrant, soulful folk-pop sound also grab the listeners’ ears”.
AKMU’s ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’, which was praised by Billboard, achieved an all-kill status on 7 music charts in 3 years since its release. In addition, all songs from the album including ‘Chantey’, ‘Fish in the Water’, and ‘FREEDOM’ were ranked high on music charts as well.
While dominating music charts for the second day since its release, ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’ is at no. 1 on 6 different charts including Melon, Mnet, Bugs, Soribada, Genie, and Olleh as of September 25.
The song ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You’re the One I Love’ is gaining empathy from the listeners with its heartbreaking lyrics and autumn sounds which remind the people of their past lovers.
Meanwhile, LEE CHAN HYUK will appear on KBS Cool FM ‘SU HYUN’s Raise the Volume’ today at 8 PM to share more stories regarding his music. AKMU will also hold an outdoor listening party called ‘Sailing on an Autumn Night’ on the 29th at 7:30 PM in Mulbit Stage Hangang Park, Yeouido to meet their fans.
