iKON Completes 5 Weeks of Activities, “Will Come Back with More Music and Activities”
[뉴스엔=박아름 기자] iKON finalized their official activities for their third mini album ‘i DECIDE’ which went on for 5 weeks, and began working on their new album.
On March 1 at 3:50 PM, iKON will perform the title song ‘Dive’ on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ to say goodbye to their fans.
The performance of ‘Dive’ has received favorable reviews that iKON’s freewheeling charms and fierce performance dominates the viewers and proved the group’s popularity by being ranked on the real-time searched keywords chart after their performance was broadcasted.
The song has also achieved successful results on global music charts. Their album topped iTunes Album charts in 24 different countries, in addition to being ranked at no. 2 on the Worldwide iTunes Album chart. Furthermore, the album was placed at the top ranks of major Chinese music platforms such as QQ Music and Kugou, as well as topping Japan’s iTunes Comprehensive Album chart and K-Pop Album chart, proving the group’s global popularity.
Other songs from the album in addition to the title song have also been proven to be of high quality, by successfully charting in on multiple charts. DK’s first-ever self-written track ‘Flower’ has received favorable reviews, making the fans look forward to his musical growth.
As it was their comeback album being released in a year, iKON focused on connecting and communicating with their fans. They met the fans first through V LIVE an hour prior to the release of their album and got even closer to the fans by releasing a reality show titled ‘iKON-ON’, which covered their album preparation process and promotional activities, once a week.
‘i DECIDE’ is an album containing iKON’s will and passion to decide and focus on their own paths and has noticed that the members’ participation levels will increase from now on.
iKON shared their thoughts by stating, “We’ve been happy during our comeback activities, due to the love and support by our fans”. They promised, “The members are concentrating on writing and composing songs. We’ll come back with more varied music and activities on our next album. See you soon”.
