AKMU Displays Rare Top Performance on Music Charts… Achieves ‘All-Kill’ Throughout October
[매일경제 스타투데이=박세연 기자] Duo AKMU topped the weekly charts of major music platforms for 4 consecutive weeks, achieving an ‘all-kill’ throughout the entire month.
AKMU’s ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, I Just Love You’ was ranked at no. 1 on the weekly charts for the 4th week of October(10/21~10/27), announced on the 28th by 6 major music platforms including Melon, Genie, Olleh Music, Bugs, Soribada, and Naver Music.
‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, I Just Love You’ has previously topped October’s weekly charts for three consecutive weeks, from the month’s first week until its third week.
The song also won the triple crown on Gaon Charts announced for the 40th week(9/29~10/5) with its no. 1 on the Downloads·Digital·Streaming charts, as well as winning the double crown for the 41st week(10/6~10/12) and 42nd week(10/21~1027).
Although it’s been 34 days since the album was released, the song was ranked at no. 1 on multiple real-time charts. The song is still receiving steady support from the music fans, even after a month since the release of the song.
The song ‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, I Just Love You’ was also ranked at no. 1 on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ broadcasted on the 26th. Their no. 1 had more meaning since it was achieved without making any appearance on music broadcasts. AKMU is continuing their no. 1 march not only on music charts, but also on music broadcasts.
‘How Can I Love the Heartbreak, I Just Love You’ received heated support from music fans of all ages with its lyrics that make the listeners feel empathy, combined with LEE CHAN HYUK and LEE SU HYUN’s appealing vocals. The breakup emotions that match well with the lonely vibes of autumn allowed the duo to achieve long-run popularity, which is rare in current day music charts.
AKMU will hold a concert in Peach Hall, Kyunghee University on December 14th and on the 15th.
