YG’s Top Producers Participated in iKON’s New Single “#WYD”
[동아닷컴=홍세영 기자] iKON is to release a new single for the first time in five months. Their new digital single is titled “#WYD”, and expectations are running high since YG’s top producers took part in making the song.
YG Entertainment revealed a poster that features iKON members and the credit of their new song on its official blog.
“#WYD” is written by KUSH, B.I, and BOBBY; composed by CHOICE37 and KUSH; and arranged by CHOICE37. KUSH and CHOICE37 have participated in producing a number of hit songs of BIGBANG and 2NE1. It will be interesting to see the chemistry created between iKON and YG’s most representative producers.
The surprise announcement of iKON releasing a new single was made with only three days before its release. YG also said that they will be releasing new albums of iKON and BOBBY soon and that they will be actively promoting their albums in Korea.
Only nine months have passed since iKON debuted, but they swept the rookie awards at the end of last year. They have also successfully held a solo concert at the biggest indoor performance venue in Korea, the Olympic Gymnastics Stadium.
iKON is also widening their global fan base by going on tours in Japan and around Asia. The group is also casted for China’s variety show The Remix along with PSY and has stayed in China for the most part of this month to shoot the show.
