SONG MINHO X BOBBY’s unit team MOBB is making duo debut with “HIT ME” written by TEDDY and KUSH
[헤럴드POP=박수인 기자] The title of the first digital single of unit boy group “MOBB” consisting of WINNER’s SONG MINHO and iKON’s BOBBY has been unveiled.
On September 6 at 10AM, a poster that shows “HIT ME”, the title of “MOBB”s first digital single, was unveiled on YG Entertainment’s official blog.
“HIT ME” is an exciting hip-hop song with a quick tempo, which suggests friends to “hang out” together. Recently, SONG MINHO and BOBBY sang the song in a guerilla performance in Itaewon area in Seoul. At that time, a large crowd flocked to see the performance and the scene is put into the song’s music video.
The teaser image draws all the more attention with the names of famous songwriters on it. “KUSH”, the main producer of YG’s subsidiary label “THE BLACK LABEL”, features for “HIT ME”, to further raise the quality of the song. Notably, the song’s “hook” which is easy to sing along for anybody leaves a big impression. The lyrics of the song was written by MINO, BOBBY, and KUSH, while the melody was written by CHOICE37, KUSH, TEDDY, Seo Won-jin, MINO, and BOBBY. It was arranged by CHOICE37, KUSH, TEDDY, and R.Tee.
Those producers are the ones who have given birth to numerous hit songs of BIGBANG, 2NE1, etc. This “dream team” of YG producers is making music fans pay keen attention to “HIT ME”. “MOBB”, the name consisting of the letters in English names “MINO & BOBBY” has announced that they will release double digital singles along with two music videos on September 9 at 0 o’clock. Now, fans are showing keen interest in the title of their second single.
YG announced on the duo debut of SONG MINHO and BOBBY for September 9 at 0 o’clock, as well as the release of BOBBY’s solo track “HOLUP!” for September 7 and SONG MINHO’s solo song “BODY” for September 8. Such bold way of promotion that releases new songs for three days in a row is raising music fans’ anticipation for “MOBB”. Total four new songs and four music videos will be released by SONG MINHO and BOBBY, but the team will mostly perform MOBB’s double title tracks in TV music shows.
iKON’s main rapper BOBBY who was the winner of “Show Me the Money 3” in 2014 and WINNER’s main rapper SONG MINHO who was the runner-up of “Show Me the Money 4” in 2015 are close friends who have been working together from the days when they were trainees, as well as the biggest rivals to each other. The new music and performances of “MOBB” consisting of such close friends and big rivals is expected to create fresh sensation in the music scene.
