‘Comeback after 3 years…’ BLACKPINK to Release New Song in Early July
[JTBC=김선우 기자] The wait is over. BLACKPINK is returning as a full group with a new song set to be released in July.
According to multiple music industry officials on the 19th, BLACKPINK’s full-group new song is scheduled to be released in early July.
It has been 3 years. This marks their first comeback since renewing their group activity contract with YG Entertainment. The upcoming track is said to capture BLACKPINK’s signature charm while offering a fresh new sound, heightening anticipation.
Previously, BLACKPINK had shared news of a second-half comeback and music video shoot. They are currently in full preparation for their concert, “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR 〈DEADLINE〉,” which will be held on July 5–6 at Goyang Sports Complex.
While the announcement of the world tour had been made, there was no news about a new song, raising fans’ curiosity. With the schedule now confirmed for early July, the release is expected to be a huge gift for fans who have waited for so long. Whether they will unveil the new song for the first time during the Goyang concert is a key point to watch.
The 3-year gap was by no means wasted for BLACKPINK’s members. JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ and LISA each expanded their personal capabilities through solo albums and acting projects.
Rosé sparked a global sensation with “APT.”, her collaboration with Bruno Mars. Jennie and Lisa performed at the “Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival,” the largest music festival in the U.S., this past April, proving their global popularity. Jisoo focused on acting. Balancing her solo music and acting careers, she appeared in the series “Newtopia” and has the film “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” set for release on July 23.
It has been a journey of growth from “K-POP star” to “world class.” Reunited once more, BLACKPINK is stronger than ever. This summer, BLACKPINK is set to heat up the K-POP scene and rewrite K-POP history.
Meanwhile, starting with the new song release and the Goyang concert, BLACKPINK will continue their world tour in major cities around the globe, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, and Tokyo.
