BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ M/V Surpasses 700 Million Views

According to YG Entertainment on the 16th, BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ music video crossed the 700 million view mark on YouTube at 1:06 am on the same day.
This achievement comes approximately 2 years and 10 months after its release on October 2nd, 2020.
‘Lovesick Girls’ is a song characterized by a country-style guitar sound layered with a lyrical melody and the powerful vocals of BLACKPINK. Members Jisoo and Jennie participated in the songwriting and composition.
Unlike their previous works, which were popular for their intense performances, this song was acclaimed for showcasing the matured inner acting abilities of the members.
The song also achieved remarkable success on global charts. At the time of its release, it ranked 59th on the Billboard Hot 100 and held the number 1 position for two consecutive weeks on the Global YouTube Songs Top 100 chart.
The album containing this track, ‘THE ALBUM’, secured the 2nd spot on both the US Billboard 200 and the UK Official Album Chart upon release, and remained on the charts for 10 weeks and 7 weeks respectively.
With this, BLACKPINK now boasts a total of 13 videos on YouTube with over 700 million views. Previously, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ (2.1 billion views), ‘Kill This Love’ (1.8 billion views), ‘BOOMBAYAH’ (1.6 billion views), ‘How You Like That’ performance video (1.4 billion views) and music video (1.2 billion views), ‘As If It’s Your Last’ (1.3 billion views), Jennie’s solo song ‘SOLO’ (900 million views), ‘WHISTLE’ (800 million views), ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’ (800 million views), ‘Ice Cream’ (800 million views), LISA’s solo song ‘MONEY’ performance video (800 million views), and ‘Pink Venom’ (700 million views) achieved similar view counts.
To date, BLACKPINK has produced a total of 43 videos on YouTube that have reached over a hundred million views, continuously breaking their own records, both as a group and individually.
The accumulated views of their videos have surpassed 326 billion, and their official YouTube channel currently has over 90.7 million subscribers, making them the top artist in this category worldwide, across all genders.
BLACKPINK is currently conducting the K-pop girl group’s largest scale world tour, the ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK]’, mobilizing approximately 1.5 million fans.
