Dance Practice Video for BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ Reaches 200 million Views

[MK스포츠=김나영 기자] The dance practice video for the title song of BLACKPINK’s first full album ‘Lovesick Girls’ has reached 200 million views on YouTube.

According to YG Entertainment on the 19th, the dance practice video for BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ surpassed 200 million views on YouTube as of 4:03 a.m. on that day.

This feat was reached after around a year since it was revealed last October. The group’s feat of reaching more than hundreds of millions of view for it’s videos, even though it’s not a music video, rather just a dance practice video shows the girl’s popularity. This is the 8th dance practice video that reached more than 200 million views out of 32 of their videos which reached more than hundreds of millions of views.

‘Lovesick Girls’ is a song where lyrical melodies on a country-style guitar sound stand out, along with BLACKPINK’s powerful vocals. Their gestures which signaled a headache and love heart was a representation of their longing and pain for love which stole the hearts of global fans, steadily gaining popularity even till now.

At the time of release, ‘Lovesick Girls’ reached 59th on Billboard’s Hot100, and topped the Global YouTube Song Top100 Chart for two consecutive weeks. ‘THE ALBUM’ which contains the song ranked on the 2nd spot on U.S.‘ Billboard 200 and UK’s official album chart. It then got ranked on the chart for 10 weeks and 7 weeks respectively.

BLACKPINK has established an unprecedented presence in the global music scene with their solo projects this year. The title for LISA’s first solo album ‘LALISA’ topped the iTunes Top Song Chart in a total of 72 countries and took the top spot on the Global YouTube Song Top 100 for two consecutive weeks.

The track song ‘MONEY’ also took the 59th spot on UK’s official single top 100, and climbed up to the 7th spot on Spotify, the world’s biggest music streaming platform and surpassed 100 million streams yesterday (18th).

Meanwhile the M/V for BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ has only about 4.8 million views left until it reaches 500 million views. Ever since LISA’s solo debut, the YouTube subscribers for BLACKPINK’s official channel has increased by nearly 3.6 million with 68.4 million subscribers, which is the world’s first among artists from all around the world.
