[스포츠조선=백지은 기자] The dance practice video for BLACKPINK’s title song ‘Lovesick Girls’ from their official debut album has surpassed 100M views. It is BLACKPINK’s 24th video to surpass 100M views.

According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ dance practice video has surpassed 100M views on YouTube as of December 16 at 7:18 AM. The record was set in approximately 68 days since the video was released.

As a result, BLACKPINK has renewed their own record on the number of videos with over 100M views, which was already the biggest among all K-Pop girl groups. The record is meaningful since BLACKPINK’s 100M march on not only MVs but also on dance practice videos is something one cannot easily spot on other artists.

‘Lovesick Girls’ is the title song from BLACKPINK’s official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’, released in 4 years since the group has made debut. BLACKPINK’s powerful vocals and lyrical melodies were added on top of country guitar sounds, while JISOO and JENNIE participated in the writing and composing of the song.

Making gestures as if one’s head hurts and the point moves which directly express longing, sadness, and reminiscence have grabbed the global fans’ hearts, allowing the song to gain consistent popularity.

‘Lovesick Girls’ has entered the Billboard Hot 100 as no. 59 at the time of its release and has topped the Global YouTube Song Top 100 chart for 2 consecutive weeks. ‘THE ALBUM’ containing the song has been ranked at no. 2 on bot the US Billboard 200 and UK’s Official Albums Chart and has successfully charted in for 10 and 7 consecutive weeks, respectively.

BLACKPINK has recently received the ‘Group of the Year’ award for the first time as a K-Pop group at the US ‘Variety Hitmakers’, as well as receiving the ‘Global Popular Group’ award at China QQ Music’s ‘Boom Boom Awards’. They also won 2 trophies(Best Female Dance Award·Top 10) at the ‘2020 Melon Music Awards(MMA)’, 3 trophies(Best Female Group·Best Female Group Dance Performance·Worldwide Fans’ Choice) at the ‘2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards(MAMA)’, and won the honor of being selected as the ‘2020 Visionary’ by CJ ENM.

Furthermore, the group is also shining through year-end reports announced by major foreign media. BLACKPINK was the only K-Pop artist to be included on the ‘2020 Best’ Albums·Songs·MVs list selected by staff members of Billboard, was selected as the ‘2020 Best Song’ announced by Rolling Stone, and was mentioned on the ‘Teen Music of the Year’ announced by AP News, proving their global presence.
