M/V For BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ and ‘Playing With Fire’ Reaches 500 And 700 million Views Respectively

Music video views for their new songs have been accelerating and their existing hit songs are still also being loved, showing how global fans are continuing to support the group.
According to YG Entertainment on the 30th, ‘Lovesick Girls’ which is the title song for their first full album, reached 500 million views on YouTube as of 11:49 p.m. of the 29th. This feat was reached after a year and a half of release, and BLACKPINK’s 11th video that reached 500 million views.
‘Lovesick girls’ is a song that has a lyrical melody on top of country-styled guitar sound. The girls’ powerful vocals add even more charm to it, and JENNIE and JISOO took part in the lyrics and composition. The music video for ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’ which is one of the double title songs for BLACKPINK’s second digital single ‘SQUARE TWO’ also surpassed 700 million views on YouTube on the same day at 0:55 a.m. Even though it’s been more than 5 years since it got released, as the song portrays the girls’ girl-crush charms, it’s still being loved by fans from all around the world.
As a result, BLACKPINK has more than 9 videos that reached 700 million views including ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’, ‘DDU-DU-DDU-DU (1.7 billion views)’, ‘Kill This Love (1.4 billion views)’, ‘BOOMBAYAH (1.2 billion views)’, ‘As If It’s Your Last (1 billion views)’, ‘How You Like That (900 million views)’ and performance video for the song (800 million views)’, JENNIE’s solo song ‘SOLO’, and ‘WHISTLE’. This is the greatest record held by a K-POP artist.
BLACKPINK who has 32 videos which reached billions of views on YouTube is showing an unrivaled performance on YouTube. Their cumulative number of views has reached 20.7 billion and they currently have more than 68.6 million subscribers which is a record among artists from all around the world. When adding each members’ Instagram account followers, they have a total of 250 million.
BLACKPINK is also leading the way in various social contribution activities such as becoming ambassadors for UN’s SDGs, taking part in public campaigns, and making donations for the needy.
