BLACKPINK Releases ‘Lovesick Girls’ Dance Practice Video… Also Reveals Training Room in YG’s New Headquarters Dedicated to the Group
[OSEN=심언경 기자] Group BLACKPINK revealed the dance practice video for their title track, ‘Lovesick Girls’.
On October 9, YG Entertainment uploaded the dance practice video for ‘Lovesick Girls’, the title track of BLACKPINK’s first official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’, through their official blog and the group’s official YouTube channel.
Since music broadcasts were on break due to the Chuseok holidays last weekend, they revealed the dance practice video as a way of showing gratitude towards the global fans who have waited for BLACKPINK’s comeback performance.
Furthermore, BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ dance practice video revealed the training room in YG’s new headquarters dedicated to BLACKPINK, which quenched the curiosities of many fans worldwide and made them glad.
The elegant interior which reminded the viewers of a MV set and BLACKPINK’s sophisticated image went well, while the full-version choreography unveiled raised the fans’ anticipation on the group’s upcoming comeback performance. The brighter lights compared to their previous training room also grabbed the global fans’ attention since they showed the 4 members and their dance moves more clearly.
BLACKPINK currently has 50.5M YouTube subscribers, which is the second most in the world and is dominantly the biggest figure among all female artists in the world.
Like BLACKPINK’s MVs at over 1B views, their dance practice videos are also recording untouchable views.
Their dance practice video for ‘How You Like That’, released on July, is currently at 340M views, while ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ is at 550M views, and ‘Kill This Love’ is at 297M views.
The choreography for ‘Lovesick Girls’, which present the members’ beautiful dance lines and freewheeling mood, was created by Kiel Tutin and Hanagami who have participated in making the choreography for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, ‘Kill This Love’, and ‘How You Like That’.
The dance revealed differentiated charms through its point moves of gestures expressing the word ‘lovesick’ as if their head hurts, their movement as if they were wandering, and their gesture of making a big heart as they expressed their longing for love.
The group’s first official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’, released on the 2nd, topped iTunes Album charts in 57 countries, while its title track ‘Lovesick Girls’ surpassed 100M views in 75 hours since its release, proving the group’s global presence. The physical copies of the album reached approximately 590 thousand sales on the first day of its release, and easily surpassed 600 thousand sales in 2 days. They set the biggest initial sales record in K-Pop girl group history with its first day sales figure, making the people wonder if they will become ‘million sellers’.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will perform ‘Lovesick Girls’ and ‘Pretty Savage’ from their album ‘THE ALBUM’ on MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ on the 10th and on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 11th. The group’s original documentary titled ‘BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky’ will also premiere through Netflix on the 14th.
