[엑스포츠뉴스=김미지 기자] Group BLACKPINK confirmed that they will be performing 2 songs in their comeback music broadcast, raising the anticipation of global fans.

According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK will appear on MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ on the 10th and on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 11th to perform their title track ‘Lovesick Girls’ and ‘Pretty Savage’.

‘Lovesick Girls’ is a song composed of country sounding guitar riffs with lyrical melody and BLACKPINK’s powerful vocals added on top. JISOO and JENNIE were credited as composers and writers of the song, and the song is loved with its fundamental question of why people get hurt and wounded by love and yet go out looking for another, along with its hopeful message.

‘Pretty Savage’ is a song with a minimal trap beat with simple yet catchy and powerful rap verses on top, along with an impressive drop part. BLACKPINK’s unique charisma, pretty but that’s not all, stand out throughout the track. It is the best song from ‘THE ALBUM’ selected by critics of US Billboard and received attention from Rolling Stone as the “Hottest open track since Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank You, Next’”.

YG explained, “The title track ‘Lovesick Girls’ from BLACKPINK’s official debut album is an emotional song which goes well with autumn, while ‘Pretty Savage’ is a song that presents BLACKPINK’s girl-crush charms”. The agency added, “’Pretty Savage’ and ‘Lovesick Girls’ were the final candidates of the title track for BLACKPINK’s official debut album. BLACKPINK will present their full-scale aura which weren’t fully presented through the MV on stage”.

BLACKPINK released their official debut album ‘THE ALBUM’ on the 2nd at 12 AM US EST, which is 1 PM KST on the same day. Since all music broadcasts were on break due to special programs celebrating the Chuseok holidays, BLACKPINK will make their first comeback performance this week.

Since BLACKPINK won no. 1 for 3 consecutive weeks on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ through ‘Ice Cream’ and won the triple crown, their upcoming comeback performance has more meaning.

BLACKPINK’s ‘THE ALBUM’ topped iTunes Album charts in 57 different countries including the US, as well as being ranked at no. 7 on the US Apple Music Album chart. The title track ‘Lovesick Girls’ was also ranked at no. 3 on the Spotify Global Top 50 chart, proving the group’s strong presence in the major Pop market.

Furthermore, 590 thousand copies of BLACKPINK’s ‘THE ALBUM’ were sold on the 6th as soon as the album was released, according to Hanteo Chart which is a Korean music sales tracker website. It is the biggest initial sales record in K-Pop girl group history, marked in just 1 day of sales accumulation on the date of its release.
