BLACKPINK’s ‘Shut Down’ MV Surpasses 500 Million Views: Their 15th Overall

According to their agency, YG Entertainment, on the 13th, the ‘Shut Down’ music video reached over 500 million views around 4 PM that day. This achievement comes 331 days after its release and is BLACKPINK’s 15th music video to reach this milestone.
‘Shut Down’ is a hip-hop track that samples the third movement, ‘La Campanella’, of the Violin Concerto No. 2 by Italian composer and violinist Paganini. After its release, it became the first K-pop song to top the weekly charts on the global music streaming platform, Spotify.
Currently, BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel has over 90.6 million subscribers, ranking them first among global singers. Their channel features a total of 43 videos with views in the hundreds of millions, accumulating a total of over 326 billion views.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is on their world tour ‘BORN PINK’. The tour started in New Jersey on the 11th and is scheduled to perform in places like Las Vegas and San Francisco.
