Double Achievement for BLACKPINK! ‘Shut Down’ Hits 400M Views & ROSÉ’s ‘On The Ground’ Dance Video Reaches 100M Views
[일간스포츠=정진영 기자] BLACKPINK is once again smashing records on YouTube.
According to their agency YG Entertainment on the 8th, BLACKPINK’s music video for ‘Shut Down’ surpassed 400 million views on YouTube at around 7:24 am. It took only 204 days for the video to join the exclusive 400M club, making it the group’s 17th video to achieve this feat.
The dance video for ‘On The Ground’ also hit a milestone, reaching 100 million views on YouTube around 10:21 pm on the 7th. It’s been just over two years since the video was released on March 23, 2021. As their 40th video with over 100 million views, it clearly demonstrates fans’ insatiable appetite for BLACKPINK’s performances.
BLACKPINK has been experiencing a rapid growth in both YouTube views and subscribers lately. They’ve continued to expand their global influence on the platform, regardless of whether the releases are group or solo projects. Jisoo’s solo debut on the 31st of last month is believed to have played a significant role in this surge.
Currently, BLACKPINK is undertaking the largest scale K-pop girl group world tour, ‘BLACKPINK World Tour [In Your Pink]’, which has attracted around 1.5 million fans. Having successfully completed 14 shows in 7 North American cities and 10 shows in 7 European cities last year, the four members are now headed to Asia to connect with even more fans.
