[마이데일리=오윤주 기자] An introduction video for YG’s rookie girl group BABYMONSTER member RORA has been unveiled.

At 12 AM of the 16th, YG Entertainment put up a clip titled ‘BABYMONSTER – Introducing RORA’ on its social media channels. It was a clip introducing their 14-year-old Korean trainee RORA following RUKA and PHARITA.

RORA, who was already titled an all-rounder within the company, was chosen as a YG trainee while carrying out her activities as a kids’ girl group member. She couldn’t hide her disappointment with her performance during her first monthly evaluation, but YG executive producer YANG HYUN SUK said he saw potential in her by saying that he knew she’d become a great artist if they worked on her voice.

Throughout the years, YG executive producer YANG HYUN SUK’s prediction became a reality and said “100 points for her singing would be an understatement considering her age.” Even the vocal trainer at YG said “She has a full sound and it rings very nicely. She may be young but the way she expresses the song isn’t young at all.”

RORA was born with talent, but her biggest weapon is in her persistent effort and determination. She was chosen as the member that grew the fastest in terms of dancing, which she said she only started learning professionally after coming to YG. Her big movements and facial expressions are also her strengths. YANG HYUN SUK didn’t hesitate in complimenting her by saying that “She even has that hip-hop vibe. She’s so good up to a point where it makes me wonder if it’s even possible.”

The clip also showed how determined she was to make her dreams come true. She traveled more than 2 hours a day after school to go to Seoul from Chuncheon, where she lives. RORA said, “I want people to be happy after listening to my music. Rather than being a ‘mini’ version of someone, I want to stay authentic to myself as RORA, and want to become an artist that shines brightly on stage, just like the aurora.

Meanwhile, YG has been releasing individual introduction clips of BABYMONSTER since last September.
