YG Girl group ‘BABYMONSTER’ Hits 1 million YouTube Subscribers Before Debut
[뉴시스=이재훈 기자] YG Entertainment’s next-generation girl group BABYMONSTER’s official YouTube channel subscribers hit 1 million views even before their official debut.
According to YG Entertainment on the 18th, BABYMONSTER’s official YouTube channel hit 1 million views as of 12:18AM the same day. This comes in just 52 days since it was opened on December 28th last year.
Starting with the launching teaser on the 1st of January, YG has been releasing video/dance performance/individual introduction videos of the members one by one. The cumulative views related to BABYMONSTER on YG’s official & BABYMONSTER’s YouTube channels surpassed 140 million views.
YG said “YouTube subscribers are an indicator of how tight the fandom is, as it goes beyond one-off viewing or simple curiosity of the content. This is a meaningful feat as the group hasn’t even made their official debut yet. This was achieved just through teasing content, as it wasn’t even an official music video or album promotion content.”
Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER is a rookie girl group YG is releasing in 7 years after BLACKPINK, and they’re mostly in their teens. There are 3 Korean members (AHYEON, HARAM, RORA), 2 Thai members (PHARITA, CHIQUITA), and 2 Japanese members (RUKA, ASA). They will soon be releasing their debut date.
