Japanese Media Pays Attention to TREASURE’s First Dome Performance… “Next-generation YG Idol Following Footsteps of BIGBANG & BLACKPINK”
[앳스타일=박승현 기자] With TREASURE successfully wrapping up their first Japanese tour since debut, local media have shown enormous interest by shedding light on their successful tour.
On January 28th and 29th, TREASURE held ‘TREASURE JAPAN TOUR 2022-23 HELLO SPECIAL in KYOCERA DOME OSAKA’ at Japan’s Kyocera Dome Osaka. The group had previously accumulated approximately 220,000 audiences with their 24 concerts in 7 cities. They added 80,000 more people with their special dome performance, accumulating a total of 300,000 audiences altogether.
Japan’s 6 major media outlets including Nikkan Sports, Sports Nippon, Tokyo Chunichi Sports, Daily Sports, Sports Hochi, and Sankei Sports, highlighted TREASURE’s performance at the dome and the record they set in just a year and 10 months after Japan’s debut.
They also highlighted how they made their debut through ‘TREASURE BOX’ led by YG Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK, and how they swept various Rookie of the Year Awards in 2020, the year of their debut. It also portrayed fans’ responses, seeing TRESAURE as the next-generation YG idol, following the footsteps of BIGBANG and BLACKPINK.
Not only newspaper outlets, but entertainment shows such as Fuji TV’s ‘Mezamashi TV’, ‘NTV’s Buzz Rhythm’, and KBC’s ‘ASADESU’ also shed spotlight on their activities. They carried out interviews with local fans, and looked into how they became viral on social media and members’ individual skills to analyze their popularity.
The heated atmosphere of TREASURE’s dome performance could also be seen through their chart results in Japan. TREASURE’s pre-release song for their first Japanese single ‘Here I Stand-Anime Edit’ immediately took the first spot on Japan’s Line Music and Rakuten’s real-time music charts.
‘Here I Stand’ was performed for the first time during their encore performance, and the group released a short version of it through music sites, before the official release on March 22nd. The song was chosen as the sound track for Japan’s popular animation film ‘Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King’, and is receiving attention from local fans even before the official release.
Meanwhile, TREASURE will be kicking off their Asia tour in March starting with Taipei followed by Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok, Singapore, Manila, Macau, and Hong Kong.
