[스타뉴스=안윤지 기자] BLACKPINK once again went beyond expectations.
YG Entertainment said on the 17th that BLACKPINK added an additional show in Berlin Germany on the 20th of December. As a result, the four members will be meeting German fans with two performances, on the 19th and 20th of December.
As a result, after finishing their North American tour, BLACKPINK will head to other European countries and hold performances at London, England on November 30th and December 1st, Barcelona, Spain on December 5th, Cologne, Germany on December 8th, Paris, France on December 11th and 12th, Copenhagen, Denmark on December 15th, and Amsterdam, the Netherlands on December 22. As they added two more performances, BLACKPINK will hold 10 concerts in seven European cities.
The group will kick off their world-tour ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK]’ in Seoul at Olympic Park KSPO DOME on the 15th and 16th of October. They will then meet with a total of 150,000 fans around the world with their tour in North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
BLACKPINK released their 2nd full album ‘BORN PINK’ on the 16th. A total of 8 songs including pre-release single ‘Pink Venom’ were listed in their album. Their title-song ‘Shut Down’ is a song that sampled Paganini’s ‘La Campanella’, created a mysterious yet dark atmosphere.
Not only is ‘Shut Down’ being loved by domestic listeners, but they’re receiving favorable reviews overseas as well. On the 16th (local time), U.S. magazine Billboard released an article through the ‘Critic’s Picks’ corner by gathering opinions by music critics about all the songs listed on the album.
Billboard complimented their title-song ‘Shut Down’, saying, “They met the expectations of picky listeners by combining familiar classic and hip-hop once again”. This showed how BLACKPINK once again challenged themselves by stepping up their musical abilities through their new album, which is something they’ve been doing every time.
All track songs of the album were being praised as ‘just as good as the title’. Billboard said, “From piano ballads which focused on vocals to disco, rock, and hip-hop, the group pulled off every genre extremely well. They re-wrote the definition of K-POP. Their beauty is all for themselves, not for anyone else”.
Not only Billboard, but Rolling Stone also shed light on BLACKPINK’s comeback. The U.S. magazine said, “It is the birth of a pop album that encompasses the whole world”, adding, “The group always delivers a message through earning what they want through music. We deeply praise their influence in giving courage to girls all around the world”.
The album also topped the first place on iTunes Album Chart in 54 countries including the U.S. and UK. They also topped the Apple Music Album Chart in 61 countries. Not only the title-song, but their track-songs are also topping not only domestic music charts, but charts in Japan and China as well.
