[스타뉴스=윤상근 기자] The music video for ‘Pink Venom’, the pre-release single from BLACKPINK’s second full-album, surpassed 300 million views on YouTube, ahead of the release of their 2nd full album ‘BORN PINK’ at 1PM the same day.

According to YG Entertainment on the 16th, BLACKPINK’s ‘Pink Venom’ M/V exceeded 300 million YouTube views as of 9:31AM this day. The feat comes in about 28 days since it was released at 1 PM on the 19th.

Earlier, the M/V for ‘Pink Venom’ surpassed 90.4 million views on YouTube within 24 hours of release, breaking the world record for a female artist. After reaching 100 million views at the fastest speed (29 hours and 35 minutes) among K-pop girl groups, it surpassed 200 million views in seven and a half days.

Right after its release, ‘Pink Venom’ topped the iTunes charts in 75 countries and ranked second, which is the highest record for K-pop, on Spotify’s Top Song Global Weekly Chart. It also topped Billboard Global for the two consecutive weeks, topped Billboard Global for the 3 consecutive weeks, and ranked 22nd on the Billboard Hot 100 and UK official charts, respectively.

‘Pink Venom’ is a hip-hop genre song that stresses BLACKPINK’s original charisma. Korean traditional sounds create perfect harmony with intense beat from the intro, and the powerful rap and strong vocals intensifies the charm all 4 members have.

BLACKPINK will release their 2nd full album ‘BORN PINK’ at 1PM of the 16th and continue on their popularity momentum. Their title-song ‘Shut Down’ is a song that put together trendy hip-hop beats with Paganini’s ‘La Campanella’ sampling. Expectations are running high among global music fans as YG put the most amount of production cost into the music video.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK plans on holding a ‘Countdown Party’ on its YouTube channel one hour ahead of the comeback and talk about their new song and future activities. They will then head to North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania after kicking off their mega-scale world tour at KSPO Dome in Seoul Olympic Park on October 15 and 16 to meet with 150,000 BLINKS around the world.
