iKON Finally Joins Weverse… ‘Kingdom’ Practice Video Revealed
[OSEN=박소영 기자] On June 14, YG Entertainment revealed that iKON will be joining Weverse, the global fan community platform.
iKON’s community in Weverse will be open on June 21 at 12 PM. Through Weverse, iKON is expected to actively communicate with the global fans and engage in various activities.
iKON is the second artist from YG to join Weverse. YG has previously announced that they will strengthen their strategic partnership with Big Hit Entertainment and Weverse Company.
YG is planning to form an innovative model that will present new experience to its fans as well as expanding their influence using iKON’s global popularity.
After making debut back in 2015 with their digital single ‘MY TYPE’, iKON received attention as the super rookies of the year by dominating no. 1 spots on major music charts in and out of Korea. They have since released numerous hits including ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ and ‘KILLING ME’.
The group has also released their digital single ‘Why Why Why’ in March and participated on Mnet’s boy group competition program ‘Kingdom: Legendary War’, presenting a sincere and dominant performance while showing off their presence.
Their 100-day journey at ‘Kingdom’ has ended, but the fans got even more passionate toward iKON, the ‘performance maestros’. YG is revealing ‘Kingdom’ behind contents through YouTube and social media channels every Monday since the 7th, which are followed up by favorable reviews.
In fact, on iKON’s ‘Behind the Kingdom EP.2’ revealed today(14th), iKON revealed their fierce practice scene which reminded the viewers of an actual concert, exciting the fans who were watching the clip. Their full-version performance video of ‘INCEPTION’ also captured iKON’s fierce Hip-hop swag, putting the viewers in awe.
YG revealed, “We are planning a relay hashtag event and various video contents for ‘iKONIC(fandom name)’ in order to repay your love and support” and added, “iKON’s ‘Kingdom’ behind contents will also be pre-released through Weverse from now on”.
