YG TREASURE Makes Successful Japanese Debut→No. 1 on Oricon for 3 Days… ‘Teen Crush’ Brings Sensation in Japan
[OSEN=이승훈 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE made their first-ever appearance on a Japanese music broadcast program in success, marking their presence among the local fans.
On April 2, TREASURE appeared on Nippon TV’s ‘Buzz Rhythm’ and performed ‘BOY’ from their Japanese debut album, ‘THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT’.
TREASURE appeared behind lights of red and white, creating an excellent harmony. Starting with BANG YE DAM’s perfect live intro, HARUTO’s unique low-tone rap and SO JUNG HWAN’s pure vocals grabbed the ears of the audience.
CHOI HYUN SUK and YOSHI’s unique rap skills along with JIHOON, JUNKYU, MASHIHO, YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, DOYOUNG, and PARK JEONG WOO’s soft vocals were consistent despite their high-level choreography. TREASURE looked relaxed as they even presented witty facial expressions, proving their skills acquired through consistent practice over time.
TREASURE’s ‘BOY’ is a song with a strong beat and catchy sounds. The synthesizer sounds and heavy bass raise the tension of the song, putting the listeners in joy along with its exciting drum sounds.
The 12 members of TREASURE move in groups of 2 and 3 as if they are in different teams, and then unite throughout the performance, presenting a varied composition in choreography. The members’ systematic ‘group dance’ also impresses the viewers, and is known for a high-quality performance. TREASURE’s unique teen crush charms added on top of their moves grabbed the fans’ hearts in an instant.
After releasing their first-ever Japanese full-length album on March 31, TREASURE is proving their status as the best rookie group of K-Pop and as YG’s next-generation global group by achieving remarkable success.
TREASURE’s first Japanese album topped the Daily Albums chart of Oricon as well as the Albums Top 100 chart of Line Music, for 3 consecutive days(3/31~4/2). Furthermore, ‘Going Crazy’, the signal song from ‘YG TRASURE BOX’, and ‘I LOVE YOU’ were also placed on the top ranks of major music charts including Line Music and Rakuten Music.
TREASURE’s ‘THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT’ contains a total of 13 songs. The album includes 12 Japanese versions of songs that were locally popular despite the lyrics being Korean, in addition to the song ‘BEAUTIFUL’, which is a theme song from the animation ‘Black Clover’.
