BLACKPINK Collaborates with American Rapper Cardi B…Featured on ‘Bet You Wanna’, a Song on Their Upcoming Official Debut Album

[경향신문=홍진수 기자] Group BLACKPINK collaborated with Cardi B, the female American rapper.

On September 29, YG Entertainment uploaded the track list of BLACKPINK’s upcoming official debut album <THE ALBUM>. Cardi B participated on track no. 4, ‘Bet You Wanna’, as a featuring artist.

Last year, Cardi B became the first female artist to win the ‘Best Rap Album’ category at the Grammy Awards. She was also recently ranked at no. 1 on the ‘Hot 100’, Billboard’s main singles chart, with her song ‘WAP’ collaborated with BLACKPINK.

YG stated, “The collaboration between world-class artist Cardi B and BLACKPINK, the group making K-Pop sensations in the major Pop market, is expected to create sensations by itself”.

In addition to the title track ‘Lovesick Girls’, their upcoming album will contain a total of 8 tracks including ‘Pretty Savage’, ‘Crazy Over You’, ‘Love To Hate Me’, and ‘You Never Know’. The album also includes pre-release singles ‘How You Like That’ and ‘Ice Cream’.

JISOO and JENNIE were credited as writers and composers of the title song, ‘Lovesick Girls’.

TEDDY, who has been producing for BLACKPINK ever since the group’s debut, not only participated in the title song but was credited as writer, composer, or arranger for all tracks excluding ‘You Never Know’.

Tommy Brown and Mr. Franks, who produced ‘Ice Cream’ featuring Selena Gomez, also wrote and composed the song ‘Bet You Wanna’.

‘THE ALBUM’ is the first official debut album by BLACKPINK. The pre-release singles of the album including ‘How You Like That’ and ‘Ice Cream’ were ranked at no. 33 and no. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively.

BLACKPINK has surpassed 48.8M subscribers on YouTube today, becoming the second most subscribed artist in the world on YouTube.
