YG TREASURE Reveals ‘I LOVE YOU’ Making Film… No. 1 on Japan Music Chart+Tops iTunes Charts in 9 Countries
[OSEN=지민경 기자] While YG’s rookie group TREASURE is receiving favorable reviews with stronger music, the group revealed the ‘I LOVE YOU’ making film on the 19th.
‘I LOVE YOU’ is the title song of TREASURE’s second single album, ‘THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER TWO’. The straightforward confession of a boy who fell deeply in the emotion of love is shaking the hearts of fans.
In the making film, TREASURE revealed their unique teen crush charms and emitted positive energy. The 12 members wore school uniforms and made hand hearts and kisses, grabbing the viewers’ attention with their loveliness.
The video began with the song introduction of leader CHOI HYUN SUK and JIHOON. CHOI HYUN SUK explained, “With the freshness of a boy calling for love, the MV has unexpected charms”. JIHOON agreed. He added, “If ‘BOY’ expressed a boy’s first love, our latest song expresses deepened passion and pureness of love”.
When the MV shooting began, the members started to focus with sincere attitudes. The members also made the people know how happy the scene was by looking at each other and smiling brightly in between.
TREASURE’s ‘sharp group moves’ also grabbed the people’s attention. With the dynamic beat of ‘I LOVE YOU’, the 12 members presented a dominant group move which people could not take their eyes off.
The members of TREASURE explained, “The head to toe stepdown movement and the powerful heart knocking moves are the main points”. MASHIHO made the fans’ hearts flutter by cutely warning, “You’ll be in trouble if you fall for TREASURE’s charms”.
With the passionate support of global fans, TREASURE made debut on August 7. The group made comeback in approximately 40 days yesterday(18th) and began their popularity storm once again.
After being released on the 18th at 6 PM, the title song ‘I LOVE YOU’ was ranked at no. 1 on the Real-time Chart of Line Music, which is Japan’s biggest music platform, and on Rakuten Music. The song also topped iTunes Song charts in 9 countries including Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as being listed on China QQ Music’s Popular chart.
Their MV also surpassed 1M views in 3 hours, revealing their global presence. The global fans praised the MV by commenting, “Are they really rookies who made debut just two months ago”, “Their MV and sharp group moves are amazing”, and “Their lyrics and melodies are full of love”.
Meanwhile, TREASURE will begin their music broadcast performance schedule today(19th) through MBC ‘Show! Music Core’. TREASURE, who presented street Hip-hop fashion with their debut single, will perform while wearing school uniforms this time, grabbing the attention of fans.
