TREASURE Dominates ‘Music Core’ Performance→MV Surpasses 5M Views… The Monster Rookies
[enews24=최신애 기자] They are the monster rookies. YG’s rookie group TREASURE gained momentum on their global popularity storm by presenting an amazing performance which matched their speedy comeback.
TREASURE appeared on MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ broadcasted on the 19th and performed ‘I LOVE YOU’.
As it was their first comeback performance after releasing their second single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER TWO’ the fans in and out of Korea payed keen attention.
TREASURE showed off their unrivaled aura with different outfit concepts from what they presented through ‘BOY’ and stage presence, close to perfection.
Their sturdy vocal skills, rap, and powerful yet sophisticated performances dominated the viewers along with their relaxed stage manners, despite being rookies who have made debut only 2 months ago.
TREASURE’s ‘sharp group moves’ also got fiercer. The systematic performance as if the 12 members became united impressed the viewers, while killing point moves of making a drummer gesture, opening one’s chest implying a love confession, and nodding one’s head while making a hand heart seemed easy to follow and had potential to become popular moves.
Unlike the street Hip-hop fashion they’ve presented through ‘BOY’, they revealed their reckless charms of boys while wearing fresh school uniforms.
‘I LOVE YOU’ is a Dance Pop genre song with faster and fierecer sounds than that of their debut single ‘BOY’. Like the title of the song, the lyrics state a boy’s straightforward rush towards the one he loves, while the phrase ‘I LOVE YOU’ is repeated to add catchiness to the song.
The song was ranked at no. 1 on Line Music’s Real-time chart and Rakuten Music Rakings on the date of its release. Line Music is Japan’s biggest music platform. Furthermore, the song topped iTunes Top Song charts in 9 different countries including Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as being placed on the top ranks of China QQ Music’s Popularity chart.
The MV also surpassed 5M views in less than a day. The fans who watched their music broadcast performance and MV left positive reviews by commenting, “They are indeed YG’s monster rookies”, “TREASURE lived up to the expectations, they’ve teared up the stage”, and “I wonder how much better they will get from now on”.
