YG TREASURE Reveals ‘I LOVE YOU’ MV Teaser… Unexpected Twist in Melody+Full of Teen-Crush Charms
[한경닷컴=이준현 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE revealed the teaser for their ‘I LOVE YOU’ MV, grabbing the eyes and ears of global fans.
On September 16, YG Entertainment uploaded the MV teaser for the title song ‘I LOVE YOU’ from TREASURE’s second single album, through their official blog.
The ambient mood which reminded the viewers of pure and ardent love along with a passionate drama of rushing towards somewhere were implied in the 29-second clip.
TREUASRE’s teen crush charms were also maximized as they revealed bright energy while wearing school uniforms. The glamorous backgrounds of the beach, drum room, and a private hideout resembled the visuals of the 12 members of TREASURE as well as raising anticipation on the full version of the MV.
Furthermore, starting with a lyrical intro melody, the unexpected fierce drum beats and catchy sounds raised tension as the song progressed, raising the heartbeat of the listeners.
The chorus lyrics “I love you” presented at the end of the clip and the members’ sweet vocals also raised curiosities and expectations on the full version of TREASURE’s ‘I LOVE YOU’.
After making debut on August 7, TREASURE revealed their presence on various global charts with their title song ‘BOY’, which is uncommon among rookies. The song ‘BOY’ topped iTunes Top Song charts in 19 different countries, topped the Daily chart of Line Music, which is Japan’s biggest music platform, and even topped China QQ Music’s Top Rising chart.
TREASURE was also placed on the top ranks of US Billboard’s ‘World Digital Song Sales’ and ‘Emerging Artists’ charts. The group has even entered Billboard’s ‘Social 50’ chart, which is an indicator of global presence, as no. 40 even before making debut, and has rose up to no. 4 on the 15th, proving their rapid rise in popularity.
Meanwhile, TREASURE’s second single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER TWO’, currently available for pre-order, has already received 200 thousand orders. At this pace, TREASURE is likely to become the so-called ‘half million sellers’, who have reached a total of 500 thousand album sales in less than 2 months since they’ve made debut, with only 2 single albums released.
TREASURE’s ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER TWO’, the single album that contains ‘I LOVE YOU’ as the title song, will be released on September 18 at 6 PM. The physical copies containing the songs and instrumental versions will become available on September 22 through nationwide retailers online and offline, including YG SELECT.
