“YG TREASURE BOX Opened”… TREASURE, the Super Rookie ‘BOY’ Who Will Change K-Pop History

On August 7 at 6 PM, TREASURE released their debut single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ and its title song ‘BOY’.
TREASURE is a rookie group being launched by YG Entertainment(hereby YG) in 4 years since BLACKPINK and is a boy group being launched in 5 years since BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON, which allowed them to receive heated attention. After being formed through the audition program ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ back in 2018, they finally made their debut in the K-Pop scene after 2 years of hard preparation.
The title song ‘BOY’ contains a story of a boy who rushes towards his love without hesitation, as he cannot control himself due to an attraction, which he feels for the first time of his life. The fierce track and dance break drop of the song allow the listeners to focus on the group’s energetic performance. The dynamically transforming track throughout the song contrasts with the ‘BOY’-like fresh lyrics, which is expected to make the global music fans cheer.
TREASURE shines as much as they’ve refined themselves through ‘YG TREASURE BOX’. They fulfill the anticipation that a prominent boy group, following BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON, will finally make debut. The members, who state that the 2 years of debut preparation without promise made them want more rather than making them feel nervous, prove their potential shown on ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ with confidence. They prove that the times they’ve spent after ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ were not times of ‘storage’ but were times of ‘growth’.
