BLACKPINK With 330M Views on 4 MVs… 33.3M YouTube Subscribers

[데일리안=유명준 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘BOOMBAYAH’ surpassed 800M views on YouTube, setting another milestone. Four of their highest viewed MVs add up to a total of 337.3M views.

On February 24, YG Entertainment announced, “BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘BOOMBAYAH’ surpassed 800M views on YouTube, as of February 24 at 9:04 AM”. They explained, “‘BOOMBAYAH’ is the song that notified BLACKPINK’s debut along with ‘WHISTLE’. The strong drumbeats and unique synth sounds sound impressive, while the chorus that yells ‘oppa’ sounds very catchy. The song has become a hot topic at the time pf BLACKPINK’s release, and is proving the group’s global popularity with the steady love and support of global fans”.

Including BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, currently at over 1 billion views, BLACKPINK became the first-ever K-POP group to hold 2 MVs with over 800M views.

YG Entertainment explained, “MVs for ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ and ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ have surpassed 700M views and are about to surpass 800M views soon. Furthermore, the group has a total of 18 videos with over 100M views including their 8 music videos in addition to dance practice videos and music broadcast clips”. BLACKPINK currently has a total of 33.3 million subscribers on YouTube.

Meanwhile, tickets for BLACKPINK’s recent tour in Japan, held in continuation of their latest world tour, were all sold out while a total audience of 205 thousand watched BLACKPINK perform.
