JENNIE Reveals Full Choreography Video for ‘SOLO’… “Chart All-Kill+50 Million Views”
[스포츠조선=김영록 기자] JENNIE revealed her dominant charisma and girl crush charms through her choreography video for ‘SOLO’, her first solo debut single.
The choreography for ‘SOLO’ was partially revealed in the end of the MV, captivating the fans’ eyes in an instant. In addition, JENNIE’s performance of ‘SOLO’ revealed for the first time through BLACKPINK’s concert last weekend got passed on through word of mouth, raising the fans’ curiosities on the full choreography of the song.
Today(16th) at 10 AM, YG Entertainment finally revealed the full-version choreography for ‘SOLO’ through their official blog.
Since JENNIE did not perform the song through a broadcast, the most global fans who did not attend BLACKPINK’s Seoul concert would be watching the full choreography through the uploaded clip for the first time.
Related officials of YG stated, “We’ve recently been notified that music broadcasts will not air this weekend due to special circumstances. JENNIE’s solo performance presentation that has been prepared for a long time had to be postponed to next week”. “As an alternative, YG’s representative producer YANG HYUN SUK decided to reveal the full-version choreography filmed from the MV set, which was originally unscheduled”.
JENNIE’s first solo track ‘SOLO’ surpassed 10 million YouTube views in 15 hours since its release, while also setting milestones as a Korean female solo artist by almost reaching 45 million views in 5 days, as of today at 10 AM.
JENNIE revealed her cute chars by making finger hearts in the beginning of the choreography video, then presented unexpected charms by changing into her charismatic eyes and facial expressions in an instant.
She also grabbed the viewers’ attention with her point moves where she touches her shoulder with her forefinger on the chorus while singing, “I’m a shining SOLO”, and her circle drawing and spinning move performed with her forefinger.
Regarding the point moves of ‘SOLO’, JENNIE has previously explained, “There are interesting moves that are performed with fingers. They don’t have names yet, but anyone will be able to follow them”.
JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ released on the 12th topped 8 Korean music charts including Melon on the day of its release and is maintaining its top spot for 5 consecutive days as of today(16th) at 10 AM, which is a remarkable result.
The results overseas were even more surprising. ‘SOLO’ topped iTunes Charts in 40 different countries, indicating that she is receiving attention from all over the world.
She also set a milestone by topping the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart for the first time as a Korean female solo artist, among global Pop stars including Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.
In addition, she entered the US iTunes Top 10 for the first time as a Korean female solo artist, while proving her global influence by becoming the artist with the most watched video on YouTube in a period of 24 hours. She also topped the iTunes Pop and K-Pop Charts in Japan, along with the real-time chart of Line Music.
JENNIE is receiving the spotlight from foreign media channels as well. UK Metro wrote, “JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ entered the US iTunes Chart Top 10 for the first time as a Korean female solo artist”. US Billboard wrote, “JENNIE expressed an independent woman with her song ‘SOLO’, as the first runner of BLACKPINK’s solo project”. They reviewed, “The song ‘SOLO’ that starts with a refreshing melody eventually shows JENNIE’s mellow yet explosive vocals along with rap filled with swag”.
The charming choreography video released today is expected to assist ‘SOLO’, JENNIE’s first-ever solo song’, to keep on rising and set milestones in the music scene.
