BLACKPINK JENNIE’s MV for ‘SOLO’ Surpasses 300M Views… First·Highest Record Among All Female Solo Artists
[스타뉴스=문완식기자] Girl group BLACKPINK’s JENNIE became the first Korean female solo artist to surpass 300M views with her MV for ‘SOLO’.
On May 14 at 4 AM, the MV for JENNIE’s first-ever solo track titled ‘SOLO’ surpassed 300M views in approximately 6 months since the video was uploaded on BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel. YG Entertainment uploaded a celebratory poster through their official blog, sharing the glad news with the fans.
As the first runner of BLACKPINK’s solo project, JENNIE released ‘SOLO’ last year on November 12. The MV for the song became the fastest video by a Korean female solo artist to surpass 100 million views by reaching the figure in 23 days. The video then set a milestone by surpassing 200M and 300M views in 90 days and 182 days respectively, for the first time as a Korean female solo artist.
The MV for BLACKPINK’s ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ has surpassed 800M views on the 11th, setting the first and best record in K-Pop group history. BLACKPINK JENNIE continued the group’s winning streak as a female solo by setting another best record.
All 8 MVs released by BLACKPINK have over 100 million views including ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’(800M), ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’·’BOOMBAYAH’(500M), ‘KILL THIS LOVE’· ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’·’WHISTLE’ ·’SOLO’(300M), and ‘STAY’(100M). As each MV has been receiving steady love and support and soon will change its first figure of the accumulated view count, BLACKPINK is expected to continue setting more new records.
In addition, BLACKPINK is also proving the global attention on the group with over ‘100M views’ on even choreography videos. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has recently successfully completed their North America tour consisted of 7 concerts in a total of 6 cities.
