[Oh! Music] WINNER Had Said They Don’t Care about Chart Results, but We Knew They Would Do Well AGAIN
[OSEN=김은애 기자] “Just because our last song did well on the charts, we don’t think it will be the same this time. We’re just happy we can release songs in the summer. We do wish that the songs will do well on the charts, but we don’t want it to get to us.” This is what WINNER had said before their comeback, and they seemed to not care about chart results and just happy to be just releasing songs in the summer.
However, many predicted that WINNER’s new songs “LOVE ME LOVE ME” and “ISLAND” will be another huge hit because “REALLY REALLY”, a song WINNER released in April, is still high up on the charts and people have trust in WINNER’s music.
They were right. Upon comeback, WINNER’s new songs swept the charts in and out of Korea, doing far better than expected.
As of 10 AM on August 5, WINNER’s “LOVE ME LOVE ME” is No.1 on the charts of Melon, Genie, Bugs, Naver, and Soribada. On the day of its release, which was August 4, WINNER’s new album took the No.1 spot on the iTunes charts of 22 countries, the highest number for WINNER so far.
WINNER currently has multiple songs on the charts with “ISLAND” and “REALLY REALLY” also high up on the charts. Although WINNER’s comeback coincided with the comeback of other popular idol groups, WINNER has demonstrated its formidable popularity.
It is not an exaggeration to say that WINNER is unrivaled. It is clear that WINNER is popular because their music is good. Their new songs are self-written, which has helped to establish their unique color and style.
