US Billboard Praises WINNER’s New Songs as “a distinct musical style”

[텐아시아=손예지 기자] Billboard has highly praised WINNER’s new song “LOVE ME LOVE ME”.

On August 5, Billboard published an article about WINNER’s new songs and said, “’Love Me Love Me’ features a midtempo rhythmic beat and disco vibe, creating an immensely danceable, yet mellow, track.”

The magazine also wrote positive comments about the path that WINNER took after they turned into a four-member group in November last year. It said, “Though lineup changes often spell disaster for K-pop groups, the now-quartet has turned things around to revel and show a distinct musical style between the four songs, offering up a softer style than is typical under their label, YG Entertainment, which also houses BIGBANG and Blackpink.” 

Billboard also wrote that the music videos of “LOVE ME LOVE ME” and “ISLAND”, which were shot in Hawaii, “showcase the beauty of nature via vibrant shots of the island’s scenery.”

WINNER released a new EP titled “OUR TWENTY FOR” on August 4, and the title songs of the EP “LOVE ME LOVE ME” and “ISLAND” is sweeping the charts. The group will put on its comeback stage on MBC’s Show! Music Core on August 5.
