Warm-hearted YANG HYUN SUK, “His presence itself was a big support for the show”
[OSEN=박진영 기자] Even though SBS “K-Pop Star” was an audition program for discovery of new talents, the ones who played a pivotal role was the three judges. YG Entertainment’s YANG HYUN SUK and JYP Entertainment’s Park Jin-young have led “K-Pop Star” show for as long as six years. When Antenna Music’s Yoo Hee-yeol joined the show as a new judge, the perfect trio of judge panel was completed.
The struggle and witty attacks between the three judges in the process of finding out next-generation top stars with their difficult criteria have provided another entertainment to the viewers of the show. The success of “K-Pop Star” show would not have been possible without the three judges. Recognizing the judges’ contribution, the show’s producer Park Sung-hoon expressed his gratitude for them.
– You can’t talk about “K-Pop Star” show without mentioning the three judges. Notably, YANG HYUN SUK gave more and more warm words of evaluation season after season.
“He appears to be a very strict person when it comes to work, but he actually has much warmer personality than he seems. Basically, he is a person who can’t say harsh words to others. He has a tender heart and he worries about if others are hurt. So I think it was not easy for him to judge and evaluate young cotestants. He is really kind and warm. That is what I felt while working with him for years. I felt so once again during the latest season, when I saw him making a kind of sad expression on his face in the last episode. I think many emotions came across his heart”.
“He boasts a remarkable presence even when just sitting on the judge’s seat. He is the best producer in Korea and the best expert in producing idol groups. Many of the contentants have a dream of just seeing YG. His mentoring and advice for those young wanna-be singers are very meaningful. He had such a big affection for this program. He used to monitor each episode in early morning on the very next day of the show’s broadcasting and called me to talk about what he thought. I could witness how a successful person works and uses his energy. Working with such a man who does his best for every work he got, I could share a positive energy, too”.
