[OSEN=선미경 기자] SECHSKIES has become more sophisticated and more powerful.

SECHSKIES has become cooler after joining YG. Their 20th anniversary album is the pinnacle of sophisticated music and good looks. It’s been 17 years since SECHSKIES released an album. The album has two title tracks, “BE WELL” and “SAD SONG”, and signals the start of SECHSKIES’s second golden days.

At 6 PM on April 28, SECHSKIES released their new album. The two title tracks are very different, and the album signals the beginning of the celebrations for the group’s 20th anniversary. It well reflects the different charms of the five members in addition to YG’s signature style of music.

The title tracks of this album are “SAD SONG” and “BE WELL”. Just like the song released last year, SECHSKIES worked with TABLO and FUTURE BOUNCE for the new songs. SECHSKIES and YG’s style are blended well together to make their music even greater.

The lyrics and the music of “SAD SONG” in the part that goes “Sad songs, break-up songs, I don’t want to listen to them today” are good enough to catch anyone’s ear. Unlike what the title implies, the song is actually about not wanting to sing sad songs. The lyrics and the upbeat house rhythm are a strange combination but a good one. It definitely makes SECHKIES’s music more interesting.

“SAD SONG” is not something that you would expect just from hearing its title. It is about not wanting to listen to any sad songs. The music video of the song is very movie-like. It features roses, wine glasses, and red apples, and all the five members show short but charming acting.

“BE WELL” will surely become SECHSKIES’s signature soulful song. It is very different from “SAD SONG”. The sadness and the pain the song portrays are very touching. The lyrics also shows these feelings very well.

“Please don’t cry. Save it for someone who can make you laugh as much as you cry/I’m worried about you today as I was yesterday/I know you can’t put a big smile on, but at least don’t be sick/I know you are trying to keep me in your heart even if that means you will have to hate me/I know that you will never be able to/I’m so selfish until the very end”

SECHSKIES’s new album is the starting point of the group’s 20th anniversary celebrations. It will be a special present for the fans with its two title tracks and the re-mastered versions of SECHKIES’s old hit songs.
