“First well-made music video”… Teaser video of SECHSKIES’ “SAD SONG” is unveiled
[엑스포츠뉴스=김미지 기자] Group SECHSKIES unveiled a teaser video of their new song “SAD SONG” today, two days ahead of their comeback.
On April 26 at 10AM, YG Entertainment posted the music of SECHSKIES’ new song “SAD SONG” and a surprise teaser video that includes part of the song’s lyrics, on the company’s official blog.
The video is filled with scenes that look like a trailer of a blockbuster movie, so it catches people’s eyes right away. Notably, diverse objects including a rose, wine glass, and red apple and each member’s short but appealing acting leave a strong impression.
The song’s lyrics that go “a sad song, a song about separation, don’t let me hear the song at least today”, as well as its melody, catch the ears of listeners.
One of the wishes that SECHSKIES told to YG’s head producer YANG HYUN SUK when they joined YG Entertainment last year was that they wanted to shoot a well-made music video as other singers do.
That was an understandable wish, as until 16 years ago before SECHSKIES’ official disbandment, there was no environment for singers to shoot a music video systematically. Until that time, most music videos were shot hurriedly in just a day, with less than tens of millions Korean won of budget.
As there was no YouTube back then, the size of the market and demand for music videos was small.
After their disbandment, SECHSKIES members felt envious of quality music videos of singers of these days, so they asked for shooting of well-made music videos to YANG HYUN SUK.
The music video of “THREE WORDS” released last year was made by editing scenes of SECHSKIES’ concert, so the music video of “SAD SONG” is SECHSKIES’ first official music video in 16 years.
YANG spared no financial support for the production of the music video, as he well understood SECHSKIES members’ wish. He even directly edited the video.
Unlike the title “SAD SONG”, the song presents a subtle harmony between its lyrics that talk about a feeling of not wanting to sing a sad song any longer and a hook part with an exciting house rhythm.
While people’s interest in SECHSKIES’ new song is growing, SECHSKIES will meet fans in V-LIVE broadcasting to be hosted on April 27 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the team’s debut.
Then, on April 28 at 6PM, SECHSKIES’ new album “THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY” will be unveiled.
