[일간스포츠=박정선 기자] Will SECHSKIES take the Chinese music scene by storm as they rocked Korea’s music scene in the late ‘90s?
SECHSKIES released a new single titled “THREE WORDS” on October 7, and the song is dominating the charts in Korea. The song is currently no.1 on QQ Music’s chart too.
Upon release, “THREE WORDS” became no.1 on QQ Music’s realtime chart. As of 3 PM on October 9, the song took back the top spot. This shows that SECHSKIES new single will be high up on the charts for some time now and not just right after its release.
This is a remarkable achievement. Chinese people have no special memories of SECHSKIES to want them even after 16 years of break. Nevertheless, SECHSKIES topped the charts solely based on the popularity of its new single.
It is not just China that is enthralled about SECHSKIES. “THREE WORDS” is high on the charts of various Asian countries such as Taiwan and Malaysia.
The views of “THREE WORDS” music video on Youtube is also increasing sharply. As of 4 PM on October 9, “THREE WORDS” music video on SECHSKIES’s official channel posted 739,800 Youtube views.
Maybe SECHSKIES will revive the Korean Wave. There are certainly many people who wish that SECHSKIES’s currently popularity does not become a fad and bring new energy into the Korean Wave.
