iKON’s “#WYD”, No.1 on 4 countries’ iTunes…Proving big popualrity beyond Korea
[동아닷컴=홍세영 기자] iKON’s new song “#WYD” is drawing big popualrity not only in Korea but also overseas.
iKON’s new digital single “#WYD” released on May 30 at 0 o’clock is creating sensation, staying in high ranks on major music charts in Korea. It is enjoying big popuarlity overseas as well, going beyond Korea.
As of May 31 at 10am, “#WYD” is proving its enormous popualrity throughout Asia, being ranked in top 10 on iTunes singles chart of 10 countires: Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Kyrgyzstan, Cambodia, and Indonesia. Notably, it is ranked in No.1 place on the iTunes chart of Hong Kong, Macao, Thailand, and Vietnam.
“#WYD” is a sweet and tender song of a perfect harmony between exciting piano melody, sensuous chorus, and witty rap. Along with iKON’s member B.I and BOBBY, YG’s leading poducer CHOICE37 and KUSH took part in the production of the song. Just as iKON’s debut warm-up single “MY TYPE” that was released last year to enjoy a remarkable populaity did, “#WYD” boasts iKON’s flagship cool and sweet appeal. It is a song that anyone in and out of the country can comfortably enjoy.
In the meantime, iKON is currently expanding the scope of thier career by contiuning Asia tour after the successful finale of Japan tour. Plus, they are shooting Chinese survival audition show “The Remix” along with PSY, staying in China for more than half of every month.
